Web Application Architect
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Application Architecture
- Responsible for software development life cycle of organization's application architectural system, using current industry best practices in a Microsoft .NET environment.
- Provide expert judgment and analysis for the design, development, and implementation of technical specifications.
- Recommend alterations to design and development to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
- Create and maintain relevant test plans, diagrams, and other documentation as needed.
- Use the appropriate resources to troubleshoot and resolve issues within existing systems.
Database Administration & Development
- Develop stored procedures, views, functions, and overall database architecture.
- Perform high-level SQL Server DBA tasks using current industry best practices (data migration, backups/restore, transaction logs, etc.).
- Validate data accuracy as needed.
- Review database performance and ensure SQL Sever optimization.

Configuration Management and System Administration
- Install and support web application environment.
- Implement and maintain multiple client release cycles.
- Maintain source control system.
- Maintain multiple client websites within IIS.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a working knowledge of structured software development practices.
- Must have a working knowledge of relational databases and web application concepts.
- Self-motivated to stay current with new and emerging technologies.
- Capable of leading multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring technical specifications are met .
- Ability to communicate complex technological ideas to non-technical individuals.
- Self-directed in the testing of your work and other’s work.
- Ability to work efficiently in a flexible and fast-paced environment.
- Highly motivated and able to work independently, or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures (i.e., OOP software design patterns).
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Highly proficient MS .NET Framework 1.1 through 3.5, ASP.Net, C#
- Highly proficient in SQL Server 2000/2005/2008
- Highly proficient in T-SQL
- Highly proficient in Visual Studio 2003/2008
- Highly proficient in web technologies, including web services, remoting, WCF, SOAP, XML and XML schema development
- Highly proficient in web application security
- Proficient in IIS versions 5, 6, and 7
- Proficient in CSS/HTML/JavaScript/AJAX/Silverlight
- Proficient in various open source technologies
- Proficient in Subversion
- Knowledge of automated unit testing tools (i.e., NUnit)
- Knowledge of AICC and SCORM Web-based training standards
- Familiar with CodeSmith
- Familiar with ASP 3.0/VBScript
- Familiar with Learning Management System applications (i.e., SumTotal)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (experience may be substituted)
- 6-8 years of experience in the field or in a related area
